Fix My Eyes.

What a day it has been?! It was definitely a little crazy.  From being late for class, major technological difficulties, and figuring out I lost my prayer journal..it has been a little rough!  But hey, it's the weekend!

Grant it these are small things, but when we go through obstacles it can be hard to see the good in things.  While, I was doing my reading yesterday a particular verse in Hebrews stuck out to me.

12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This verse automatically reminded me of the contemporary Christian song Fix My Eyes.  If you haven't noticed yet, that has been my theme for my posts. ** HINT HINT** I thoroughly enjoy listening to these songs.  They put me in a good mood, and they also fix my eyes onto God.  It is crucial to remember everything we do should be focused on God and God alone.

After discovering that this verse reminded me of something, then I took the time to identify other verses in my Bible that mention focusing my eyes on God.  This is what I found.

Psalm 121:1
I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from?

Psalm 141:8
But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge - do not give me over to death.

Proverbs 4:25
Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.

2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Everything we do should be for God's will and not our own.  I challenge you to fix your eyes on God and to not be afraid to be bold in your faith.  I have decided to write this blog everyday to make myself accountable to read my Bible on a daily basis.  What are you doing to continue to grow together with The Lord?

Dear God,
I pray that you will be with me and those who read this blog.  I pray you continue to be with us and guide us to further our love in you.  Help us to progress our hearts with the joy you bring us everyday and to not be afraid to be bold in our faith.  Comfort us with your amazing words and to fix our eyes on you.  I pray all these things in Your awesome name.  Amen.
